Outline: The Conch
I. Beginning when the boys found the conch
a. Brought the group together
i. When Ralph and Piggy found the conch and blew in it, it called the other boys from all across the island to come to where they blew the shell
ii. When Ralph had an order, he would blow in it and the group came together and did the order that Ralph assigned.
b. Behavior
i. Straightened up, everyone and it put aside differences and worked together.
ii. Whoever had the conch was the only person that spoke, so it brought organization
II. During the end when used
a. Brought group apart
i. When Ralph or Piggy blew the conch not everyone would come to the meeting spot
ii. When Ralph called a meeting, Jack would argue with him and say that they should do something different
b. Behavior
i. All the boys fought about everything and they did nothing together anymore
ii. Whenever the person who had the conch spoke, another person would speak out of place without the conch
